MAKE AN ANIMAL LAMPBASE WITH VINTAGE BULB
Using various handbuilding techniques including coils and slabs you will be taught how to make an animal lamp base which will allow a vintage bulb fitting to be held in a way of your choice. The piece will be made in craft crank hand building clay and there is a choice of colours for the flex and bulb.

In these classes we will teach techniques to use for flatware and vessels and ways of embellishing your final pieces. We will teach draping methods and the use of press moulds to form your pieces as well as finishing techniques including texture and resist.

If you have attended our IMPROVERS CLASS and are ready to move on to advanced techniques this is for you. In these classes you will hone your skills to a high level and learn how to finish your pots by turning the bases, and how to make jug and mug handles in a professional way. We can also approach using more 'difficult' clays such as porcelain. You will learn how to alter thrown shapes and join two thrown vessels together, and coil throwing.

Have you always wanted to learn to throw pots on the wheel? Have you been glued to The Great Pottery Throwdown and wondered if you could do it too?
Well now you can try it out and progress at your own speed in a class of 2 people. This gives ample time for indivicual tuition and for progression at your own pace. You will learn the essential starting techniques of centering the clay and raising the walls of the vessel. You can practice at your own pace in a supportive environment. There is no pressure at all and don't worry if you can't do it first time - after a few classes you will be really pleased with the results. We will start small and grow with you.
